^That's a heck of a lot of money. Gee whiz. $30,200,000,000. Look at all those digits.
Every couple of days, I see on the news the new amount that the new Star Wars movie has made. The number previously mentioned is the total Star Wars Franchise Revenue! Yikes! Am I right?!
Harrison Ford made a grand total of $10,000 in the first produced Star Wars film.
Decades later he is estimated to make upwards of $35,000,000 for the new movie!
If an actor is SO well off, why do they continue to act? Especially at their age? Is there no such thing as actor retirement? Do they do it for the money? The recognition? To make the fans happy? Do they love it?
What do you think?
I have always wondered this, too! It's such an interesting question to consider because if I were in their shoes, I feel like I would have retired a long time ago, when I already had a ton of money! I like to think they continue doing it because it's a passion for them and they genuinely love what they do. They know they make the fans happy, so maybe they figure why not!
ReplyDeleteThose are fascinating thoughts. My dad has a catch-phrase: "Busy always beats bored." I think these actors just want to stay busy. I think it is less about the money and more about feeling like you are a part of something great that drives these older actors.
